The Edmonton Metropolitan Transit Services Commission (EMTSC) is on track to begin operations in early 2023.
The Commission’s CEO, Paul Jankowski, provided City Council with a progress report during its regular council meeting on Monday, Feb. 28.
Formed in January 2021, the goal of the EMTSC is to create one integrated regional transit solution between eight member municipalities capable of providing more local and inter-municipal routes. The expectation is the Commission will provide better transit services more efficiently to support a regional approach to managing the growth, investment, and development of a vibrant economy for the benefit of all member municipalities.
