The SMARTstart Program has Returned for New & Aspiring Businesses!

We are excited to announce that the SMARTstart Program has officially re-opened for 2026! In 2025, the City of Spruce Grove launched this new program for entrepreneurs in the community. The successful cohort included a total of 34 entrepreneurs and mentors. 

SMARTstart is an entrepreneurial training program offering tools, mentorship and business planning. It is all about providing real-world business skills and access to the tailor-made advice you need to help set your business up for success. This program has three components: online learning, in-person/virtual workshops, and mentorships.

This program costs $295 + GST, which provides valuable tools, mentorship, and business planning over 8 months to help entrepreneurs succeed.

Application Information 

• Do you have a business idea looking to be transformed into action?
• Have you recently started a new business? 
• Are you a small business owner in your first three years?
• Are you an established entrepreneur interested in mentorship opportunities?

Applications are now open for both early-stage entrepreneurs and experienced business mentors in the upcoming 2026 SMARTstart cohort.
