What’s Happening with Spruce Grove’s City Centre Revitalization Initiative?

Construction crews are hard at work and Spruce Grove’s Revitalization plan has already seen significant activity. The design of Columbus Park, for example, includes a stage area that can be viewed downtown and decorative cement walkways and gathering spaces that will be ideal for future events and festivals. Improvements to roads and underground services are underway.  

Streetscape Revitalization Is Ongoing

The streetscape revitalization has commenced and will be ongoing throughout 2022 and 2023. The goal is for Phase 1 of the project to be completed in the fall of 2023. Spruce Grove’s City Centre Revitalization initiative is being done in stages to minimize disruption to local businesses and residents. Some of the improvements include:

• Curb extensions with trees, planting beds and seating
• Parallel parking along the length of McLeod Avenue
• Raised center median with trees and low plantings
• Paved alleys between Main Street and King Street
