Discover local hot spots and find new adventures ‘On-the-Edge’. The On-the-Edge YEG website is working to grow local tourism by spotlighting activities and recreation opportunities in Stony Plain and Spruce Grove.
On-the-Edge YEG is an online one-stop shop for day trips, weekend getaways, community events, local shopping, and eats and treats in the neighbouring municipalities of Stony Plain and Spruce Grove. The website is a collaborative initiative with the Town of Stony Plain and the City of Spruce Grove aiming to increase exposure of and expand local tourism initiatives in the region.
“Growing tourism and leveraging our tourism sectors to drive economic growth is a key priority identified in Stony Plain’s Tourism Master Plan,” says Town of Stony Plain Mayor William Choy. “Through a collaborative approach, we are able to combine resources and unify tourism initiatives for a stronger, more connected region. We look forward to continuing working with Spruce Grove to grow local tourism and draw more visitors to our communities.”
“Spruce Grove is excited to partner with Stony Plain on this new regional tourism initiative. A strong tourism presence attracts people, fosters business, creates jobs, and supports infrastructure development,” says City of Spruce Grove Mayor Acker. “On-the-Edge YEG is a great way to promote tourism experiences in our region and to celebrate all that is happening here on the western edge of Edmonton.”
