GOVERNMENT OF CANADA  The Federal Budget 2021 extends several key COVID-19 support programs.

  1. Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) - Extended until September 25, 2021. It also proposes to gradually decrease the subsidy rate, beginning July 4, 2021, in order to ensure an orderly phase-out of the program as vaccinations are completed and the economy reopens. In June, firms will be allowed to shift from CEWS to the new Canada Recovery Hiring Program (CRHP).
     
  2. Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy (CERS) and Lockdown Support - Extended until September 25, 2021. It also proposes to gradually decrease the rate of the rent subsidy, beginning July 4, 2021, in order to ensure an orderly phase-out of this program as vaccinations are completed and the economy reopens

In addition, the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) and the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF) have been extended to June 30, 2021.
