Wheelchair-accessible 'Liberty Swings' now operational in local parks

As of last week, two new wheelchair-accessible ‘Liberty Swings’ are now available for use in Spruce Grove and Stony Plain thanks to a municipal effort to improve overall accessibility in the region.
“Reducing barriers and improving access to facilities, programs, and services is something we identified in our 2022–2025 Strategic Plan as a top priority for Council. The Liberty Swing is a great example of how we’re engaging with our community partners to address inequities and provide our residents with the amenities they need. We want to make sure our parks and playgrounds are accessible to every single resident who wants to use them, and we’re so pleased to see this enhancement at Jubilee Park,” said Mayor Jeff Acker.
