City Council Approves a Tax Incentive Program for Redevelopment in the City Centre
City Council has approved a City Centre Tax Incentive Program to encourage commercial and mixed-use redevelopment within Spruce Grove’s City Centre.
The eligible area includes the First Avenue and McLeod Avenue precincts between King Street and Calahoo Road, as identified in the City Centre Area Redevelopment Plan.
The program is intended to encourage private-sector investment, support redevelopment of underused properties and help advance the long-term vision for the City Centre.
Through a property tax abatement, the program can help improve the financial viability and cash flow of eligible projects by reducing expenses during the early years of development. Applications are evaluated according to the City Centre Tax Incentive Bylaw and require Council approval.
