Support Local Businesses

The City of Spruce Grove has initiated a shop local campaign called Support Local Spruce Grove

The campaign was kicked off with a series of advertisements featured on the four digital billboards along Spruce Grove’s Highway 16A corridor.  With messages that include Be part of the recovery, Missing your favourites?, Our businesses need you, and Support your community, these colourful, eye-catching ads remind and encourage residents to shop local

As part the campaign, the City is taking steps to help businesses during this time of recovery.  Businesses forced to close due to COVID-19 can now place temporary signage on City boulevards and business premises to advertise their re-opening.

Spruce Grove is allowing restaurants and retailers to establish temporary outdoor patios and display goods on public sidewalks and parking spaces, or on private property next to their establishment.    This will help to provide additional space where people can venture out and safely re-connect and socialize while enjoying a delicious meal or browsing a favorite shop.

Although a development permit is required for temporary signage and outdoor patios and retail spaces, the application process offers a quick turn around and the permit fee has been waived.  If you have any questions, please contact our Planning & Development Department by email or by phone at 780-962-7582.

Our businesses need you as much as you need them!  As we continue to expand our Support Local Spruce Grove campaign, new information can be found on this page.  Check back!
